An ongoing project
Ginger
Makes Friends
I meet people. We talk. I ask questions. We get to know each other. We see what happens.
Ginger Makes Friends is an ongoing video project about friendship, loneliness, connection, identity, growing as a person, and what it actually means to know another human being. Each episode is one real conversation with one real person. No script. No agenda. Just curiosity.
Why this exists
Most of us are lonelier
than we admit.
We have hundreds of contacts and nobody to call on a bad day. We “should get together sometime” and never do. I got tired of that — so I started a project where I sit down with people and actually get to know them. On camera, when they’re up for it.
Some conversations are funny. Some are quiet. Some surprise both of us. All of them are real.
How it works
It’s not complicated
- We say hello.Reach out — that’s the whole application process. Tell me a little about yourself, or just say hi.
- We talk.A real conversation about your life, your people, your lonely bits, your hopeful bits. I ask questions. You can ask back.
- We see what happens. If we both love the conversation, it may become an episode. Nothing is ever shared without your enthusiastic yes.

Fair questions
Before you ask
Is this a dating thing?
No. It’s a friendship thing. The whole point is that adults rarely make new friends on purpose — this project does it on purpose.
Is it therapy?
No. It’s a conversation between two curious humans. It might feel good — conversations usually do — but nobody is fixing anybody.
Will our conversation be filmed?
Only if you want it to be. Some conversations become episodes of the series; some stay private. We decide together, and nothing is published without your clear yes.
Who can take part?
Anyone with a story, a perspective, or just a willingness to talk. You don’t need to be funny, interesting-on-paper, or good on camera. You just need to be you.
Your turn
Maybe you’re next.
If any part of this made you curious — that’s the whole qualification. Tell me your story, or just tell me you want one.
